R.N. Dyck
Cpl Ren Dyck was born in Treherne MB on 27 December 1972. He attended Elementary and High School in Treherne and graduated in 1991.
While still attending High School, Cpl Dyck enrolled in the Reserve Forces as a Gunner on January 5th 1991. Upon completion of Basic training in Shilo MB he began his occupational training with 26 Field Regt where he graduated from his Qualification Level 3 and 4 that same year. Cpl Dyck also completed numerous courses to include, Basic Communicator, Artillery Fire Orders, and Driver Wheel.
Cpl Dyck transferred to the Regular Forces as a Crewman in 1995 after having spent four years in the Reserve Forces. On completion of his occupational training at the Canadian Forces Armored Battle School in CFB Gagetown New Brunswick, he was selected for a Cougar Gunnery course. Upon completion of the latter training Cpl Dyck was posted to the Lord Strathcona’s Horse in Calgary.
In 1998 Cpl Dyck transferred back to the Reserve Force until Dec 2000 when he rejoined the Regular Force as a Lineman. He completed his QL 3 Lineman training at the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics in 2001 and was then posted to 1 CMBG HQ & Sig Sqn in Edmonton. Cpl Dyck attended his QL 5 training in 2003.
Cpl Dyck’s career employment has been very diverse including postings to 1 RCHA in Shilo, CFB Wainwright with the South Alberta Light Horse, CFB Gagetown with the Amour School, CFB Calgary with the LDSH, and presently with 1 CMBG HQ & Sig Sqn as Line Det Comd.
Cpl Dyck’s overseas deployments include deploying with 1 RCHA in Cyprus as a Gunner in 1992, deploying with the Lord Strathcona’s in Bosnia as part of SFOR Roto 0, deploying as a Lineman as part of a Line TAV in Kabul Afghanistan in 2004 and presently serving as part of the Multinational Brigade (RC-S) HQ & Sig Sqn in Kandahar Afghanistan.
