A.E. Fequet
Born in St. Paul’s River, Quebec, CWO Fequet joined the Canadian Armed Forces in June of 1971. After receiving basic training at Cornwallis, NS and Radio Operator training at CFSCE, Kingston, ON, he was posted to 2 Signal Squadron (Sig Sqn), CFB Petawawa, ON.
Other posting were; 4 Combat Engineer Regiment, Lahr, Germany; 2nd Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, CFB Petawawa; Special Service Force Headquarters and Signal Squadron, CFB Petawawa; CFB Kingston, ON; 707 Communication Squadron (Comm Sqn), CFB North Bay, ON; 700 (Borden) Comm Sqn, CFB Borden, ON; 706 Comm Sqn Detachment Toronto, CFB Downsview, ON; 706 Comm Sqn, Borden; 1 Canadian Division Headquarters and Signal Regiment (1 CDHSR), CFB Kingston; Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics (CFSCE), CFB Kingston; Land Force Doctrine and Training Systems with the Director Army Training (Signals), CFB Kingston; 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Headquarters and Signal Squadron, CFB Petawawa, Director General Military Careers, National Defence Headquarters, Ottawa and now at Assistant Deputy Minister (Information Management) Group, NDHQ, Ottawa.
CWO Fequet deployed on UN operations on Op DANACA, Golan Heights, Israel and NATO as part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) on Op Athena, ROTO 0 Kabul, Afghanistan.
During his career CWO Fequet has had numerous significant accomplishments and appointments:
He completed the Nijmegen Marches four times and ran the Montreal marathon three times.
While serving at Lahr Germany he completed his Combat Leadership Course achieving Top Student honours; and
While serving at 707 Comm Sqn, North Bay he received the 70 Comm Gp Commander’s Commendation;
He has held numerous appointments; Squadron Sergeant Major (SSM) at 706 Comm Sqn, CFB Borden; Canadian Contingent Sergeant Major for the Canadian Nijmegen Marches Contingent 1996; SSM Support (Sp) Sqn and 1 Sqn at 1 CDHSR; SSM B Sqn, CFSCE; Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) for 2 CMBG HQ & Sig Sqn, and the RSM of the Kabul Multinational Brigade (KMNB) Headquarters and Signal Squadron, Kabul, Afghanistan; Career Manager for Signal Operators (Sgts and WOs) and Linemen all ranks.
CWO Fequet interests are reading, and playing and watching sports (Hockey, Curling, Golf, Squash and Ball to name a few).
CWO Fequet was promoted to his current rank on 11 June 2001. On 13 December 2005, CWO Fequet was appointed Information Management Group CWO.
CWO Fequet was appointed as the Communications and Electronics Branch Chief Warrant Officer on 9 July 2008.
CWO Fequet is married and they have three children.
