C & E Branch Annual Academic Bursary Application Form

Applicant Instructions

  1. Your completed application is to contain:
    1. Part I of this form printed and completed;
    2. the personal essay described in Part II of this form;
    3. a transcript of your high school marks, including at least your final year and the two previous years; and
    4. a copy of the letter of acceptance from the post secondary institution will be required before any academic bursary is awarded to the receipients.
  2. The application is to be mailed to:

  3. The two people listed as character references on Part I of the application should be:
    1. a teacher who has instructed you or is instructing you in your last year of school; and/or
    2. an adult who has known you for at least two years and who is not a member of your family.
  4. Completed applications must be received not later than 15 Apr for the fall school year.

Part II - Essay Description

  1. As part of this application, you must complete a short personal essay (500 - 700 words). The essay should be about yourself and should include:
    1. Family background;
    2. Current activities (academic, club, sports, volunteer, etc);
    3. Personal interests; and
    4. Future plans.
  2. You are also free to include any other items, which you feel would have a positive influence on your application.
  3. The essay can be in any format that you choose, provided that it be typed or legibly written, double-spaced and on 8½ X 11-inch paper. Your name should appear at the top of the first page.
