Corporal James Allen Keith (Retired) 221 Rad Tech

KEITH, James Allen - Jim passed away suddenly at his residence in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was raised in Kirkland Lake and joined the Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Branch in 1982. Jim retired after 20 years of service. He was predeceased by his father Dick Keith in 1986 and brother John Keith in 1983. Left to mourn Jim's loss are his mother Helen Keith and partner Doria Blais of Kirkland Lake; sister Lori (Swanson) McLean and husband Steve of Englehart; brother Richard Keith and wife Gail (Manueal) of Sudbury; two nieces and two nephews. A private family graveside service will be held at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery at a later date where Jim will be laid to rest with his father and brother. Jim joined the CF in June of 1982 as a 221 Radio Technician. After his Electronics training at CFSCE he was posted to North Bay Ontario as a GATR (Ground to Air Transmit/Receive) technician. From there he was posted to Newport Corner, NS as a MACS (Military Aeronautical Communication System) technician. He then went to CFB Petawawa and worked there until 1999 when he was posted to CFB Halifax. After his retirement from the CF, Jim was hired on as a Voice Services technician for MARLANT.
